Organic Change

Working one-on-one with teachers we help them reflect on their own enterprise skills and embed relevant activities into the curriculum they teach.

GiantMinds has worked since 1999 to meet the needs of young people, their parents, teachers and schools.  We design and deliver creative and accessible enterprise education and are pretty good at it.  The market for what we do is changing and, although direct interventions can still have their place and benefit, it is clear schools want to offer more and do it ‘in-house’.  We want to help the teachers tasked with this to recognise and use the enterprise skills they already possess and to ignite the mentality and use of them in others.

Contents

The general model is to first work directly with staff to see how ‘opportunity ready’ they are and establish how they see themselves contributing the enterprise agenda.  We would then work with two or three teachers per department to develop activities that the school would fully own and that teachers could use as part of their lessons.

We work directly with our liaison at the school to develop clear guidelines as to how this can operate.  The exact course content will depend on what the school wants and how much time they are willing to give to achieve these aims but we would aim to work with every stakeholder in the school for a minimum of an hour.

Timescale

One day per week for whole academic year (depending on availability at school).

Capacity

The whole school.  We want to include: pupils, teachers, pastoral, management, governors and parents.

Cost

Circa £4,000 depending on complexity of project and current funding climate (i.e. we might be fully funded to offer this freely to schools).
