LSC Community Award Finalist

GiantMinds has some great news - we have been named as one of three finalists for the Learning Skills Council (LSC) Working in the Community Award for our work with ‘A Grand Idea!’

Jenny McCrea, Business Development Manager for Giant Minds said, “We are delighted to be finalists of such a prestigious award and are pleased that our work is being recognised in this way. . . we are very much looking forward to the awards evening at the Sage.”

The awards ceremony is being held at the Sage in Gateshead on the 12th October 2007 where the winners of the award will be announced.  The other finalists for the Working in the Community Award are: The Key fund and Bridge Women’s Education and support centre.  Peter Hirst, Giant Minds Manager said, “It’s brilliant for such a small organisation as Giant Minds to be considered next to such amazing projects as the other finalists.”

In preparation for the Awards ceremony, the R & B Group will be filming the Giant Minds team in action at Parkview Community School on 4th September where they will be delivering their enterprise programme ‘Pandora’s Box’ to 200 students in Year 8.
